We are currently looking to get a bit of shop refitting done (new slatwall displays hung) and our usual contractor is very busy at the moment. We would prefer to get someone we know or through word of mouth and wondered whether any of our facebook friends may have any recommendations. Thanks in advance x

We are often getting asked if we can recommend house sitters for owners who would prefer to have their dogs stay in their own home instead of going to stay at someone else's. We do have a list of often recommended dog walkers and sitters but, understandbly, very few of them offer a house sitting service. We have just had another message today from someone looking for this type of service and we suggested that we could pop up a message asking if any of our facebook friends could let us know if they use/offer this type of service to allow us to keep a reference list. Thanks in advance

To all our raw feeders: As you may know we have been having some issues with the recycling of the polytubs that our Natural Instinct is being delivered in (NI used to collect the tubs for onward use and are no longer offering this service). We don't want to put the tubs to landfill and can't find a recycling service anywhere locally. We are weighing up the options and thinking about stocking Nutriment (also 5 star rated by All About Dog Food) as an alternative. The pros for Nutriment are as follows: ** it is very, very similar to Natural Instinct but, handily, has a larger variation of herbs, veggies and botanicals **their 1.4kg Chubs work out better value per kilo than the price per kilo of Natural Instinct **they also do 500g tubs which work out a tiny bit more expensive per 500g than NI 1kg tubs but may be handy for small dog owners. **they are more environmentally friendly - offering recyling of their polytubs Cons: They don't do 1kg tubs which are currently available via Natural Instinct and which our customers are used to Do any of our raw feeders have strong views on this one? We would love to hear your thoughts to aid us in making a decision. Thanks as always for your input

As part of Stockfest later this month "StockDog" a Fun dog show/doggy day is is being organised to take place on Sat 20th Sept from 1pm - 4pm. Just Dogs are supplying goodie bags for participants and prizes for the dog show. The organisers are looking for Volunteers to help on the day. If you are a doggy lover and available to help Jayne Brassington would love to hear from you. Please contact Jayne directly on drjaynebrassington@gmail.com if would like to get involved (she is looking for helpers from 1030 that morning). Jayne is also on the hunt to borrow a megaphone for the day and has asked if we can put the word out. If anyone can help she would love to hear from you :-) We will make sure we share more details about the day when they have their official posters :-)

A while back we posted a link to help some Edinburgh University Students with their research on the Human-Dog Bond. A number of you kindly completed the survey and expressed an interest in hearing the results. Their research is still ongoing but they have posted the first summary of their findings and we promised we would share: http://dogsofedinburgh.com/category/results/
