The source for electric vehicles in the UK. Get an EV from justEVs and slash your running costs to just 2p a mile!
Electric cars (often referred to as electric vehicles, or EVs) are cars that are powered entirely by an electric motor supplied by a large battery. Unlike hybrids, electric cars do not have a gasoline engine; they are “fueled” by plugging in and charging up. The chief answer to ‘why buy an electric car?’ is their environmental friendliness: They produce no tailpipe emissions. Technically, electric cars are not pollution-free; the amount of pollution they produce depends on how the electricity used to charge them is generated. Even so, electric cars are responsible for significantly less pollution than fuel-powered cars. Because electricity can be produced in so many different ways, they are not reliant on a non-renewable energy source like oil. And since all houses are wired for electricity, electric car owners can refuel at home. Call Now and speak to an expert 0800 773 4400

Nissan has announced a voluntary recall campaign of a number of 2013 and 2014 model-year european-market Nissan LEAF electric cars to fix an incorrectly assembled steering column lower joint clip which under certain circumstances may have been dislodged during assembly, leading the joint to eventually work loose and disconnect. The recall affects cars made at Nissan’s UK manufacturing facility in Sunderland, and covers european-market cars made between the start of UK LEAF production in February 2013 and October 2014. According to an official Nissan UK statement, some 4,474 vehicles in the UK are involved in the recall, although it does not list the number of European-market cars believed to be affected. Last year, a total of 14,658 LEAFs were sold in Europe, although not all of the cars sold will be affected by this recall. Nissan says owners of affected LEAFs will be contacted by their authorised dealers, who will carry out a complementary inspection to determine if their cars are affected by the issue. If necessary, a full replacement of the lower steering column shaft will be made at no cost to the customer. So far, no reported incidences have occurred in Europe concerning the faulty assembly, although Nissan notes in its official recall notice to customers that the forces put on the joint during low speed manoeuvring may cause the joint to work loose with time and disconnect.
