Our Mission: To provide comprehensive and compassionate HungerCare whenever and wherever it is needed. The Kansas Food Bank is the chief source of food for anti-hunger programs around the state. Last year we moved more than 10 million pounds of food through our Wichita warehouse to more than 200 agencies (think food pantires, soup kitchens and shelters) to feed more than 32,000 Kansans a week. In addition, we feed more than 6,400 kids a week through our Food 4 Kids backpack program, which provides two-days worth of healthy, nonperishable food to kids who may not otherwise eat over the weekend.
