Description

Kasum Contemporary Fine Art is Oklahoma City's premier contemporary fine art resource. The gallery has been recognized by the readerships of the Daily Oklahoman and the Oklahoma Gazette as Oklahoma City's Best Art Gallery. First established in 2010 as Paseo Originals Art Gallery, the gallery relocated to the Plaza District and re-branded in it's self Kasum Contemporary Fine Art under new ownership by Tony Morton; the facility's previous director. Focusing on progressive examples of contemporary fine art, the gallery represents established, mid-career and emerging artists of exceptional caliber. The gallery hosts receptions for exhibits on the second Friday of each month during Live on the Plaza. The gallery also features lectures, demonstrations, pop-up exhibits, special events and seasonal patron events. The gallery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30am – 7:30pm, Friday from 11:30am – 8:30pm, Saturday from 11:30am – 7:30pm and Sunday from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. Kasum Contemporary Fine Art is located at 1706 NW 16th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73106 and can be reached by calling 405.604.6602. Purchasing Artwork: The gallery accepts all major credit cards, cash and e-checks for in store purchases. Domestic and international “Away” purchases must be made by contacting the gallery directly by phone or email. The gallery will accepts major credit cards, bank transfer, and certified checks/money orders on domestic and international orders. In addition to standard purchasing options the gallery also offers lay-away, short term leasing and lease-to-purchase options for qualified individuals and businesses. Leasing artwork can be the perfect solution to the décor decisions you have to make in your office or home space. Leasing is an excellent option for companies or families who love good artwork and variety, but have a budget to consider. The costs can be factored in as a regular monthly fee, representing far less outlay than would be the case with buying works outright. If it happens that when you have leased a certain piece at Kasum Contemporary Fine Art, you fall in love with it and do not want to return it at the end of the leasing period, you can extend the lease. Alternatively, purchase is an option, with some of the leasing costs deducted from the price of the work. Leasing is a solution that has been embraced by many well-known companies and individuals, and we encourage you to consider it as a possibility for yourself and your home or office space. Service: We care about our clients. We know that every dollar you spend represents hard work and effort; something everyone likes to see a return on. Whether you are just getting started or you are a seasoned art patron we can help. The gallery maintains an art inventory in excess of 1000 works and a network of over 3,000 artists. If we don't have what you are looking for we can find it or find someone to create it. From the expected to the absurd, if it's art, we'll understand. If you have questions please ask? You will find that we know our artists and their artworks almost as well as they know themselves. We pride ourselves on having friendly, courteous, knowledgeable staff. Our Art Philosophy: “Great art is not going to become great just because you like it.” Tony Morton, Facility Director and CEO Our Facility Director is always on the hunt for new artists. The gallery reviews between 15 and 50 artists submissions every month in addition to reviewing local, regional, national and international exhibits. The gallery's represented artists sample a well blended selection of artists who found the gallery and artists who were found by the gallery. We place an immense amount of weight on finding artists which reflect the interest of our market but we don't stop there. We are looking for artists who exemplify the unique characteristics of a collectable fine artist. We are looking for incredibly well crafted, consistently recognizable, evolved, ingenuitive creations from artists/artisans who are passionately invested in their careers in every possible way. The fact is that anyone can be an artist but not every artist can make a career of being one. The artists who be come great seldom get “lucky”. Some of these great artists are born with a natural understanding of composition, elements and principals; but most spend years studying them before applying them skillfully. Occasionally one of these artists is born with an innate ability to craft with the technical prowess of a savant but for most great artists their skill was earned through years of dedication. The artists who last, in the history books, passionately dedicate a lifetime to their trade. They don't paint and sculpt on the weekends. They honor their creativity with every moment of their free time and breathe it in every moment they are away. Great artists are rare and we are looking for great artists. Artists Seeking Representation: Artists seeking representation should should submit a proposal including contact information, cover letter introducing yourself and your interests, artists statement, biography, bibliography, resume/cv, 10-15 high quality jpeg images (Files smaller 1 megabyte each) of your recent work and an image inventory which specifies title, dimensions, media, year of completion, frame description if applicable, special presentation requirements if applicable, retail asking price and any other important items of note.
