Description

Kawartha Montessori School, located in Peterborough, Ontario, was established in 1982 and began as a Montessori school for children 2 ½ to 6 years of age. KMS now offers Montessori education for children 2 ½ years to Grade 8. KMS is an independent, not for profit school registered with the Ministry of Education and is accredited by the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators. The school is operated by a Board of Directors composed of parents, community volunteers and the principal. KMS has a long history as the leader of authentic Montessori education in the Peterborough region. To provide an authentic Montessori education that emphasizes the whole child within an environment that inspires the pursuit of academic excellence and the development of socially responsible citizens.
