Kedila Family Learning Services (Kedila) is a non-profit working to provide education, training, affordable, and safe housing and support services to at-risk youth in New Orleans.
Our Programs: YOUTH BUILD The Youth build program works with young adults ages 18-24 who have not obtained a high school diploma. The program prepares students for their GED (General Education Diploma) examination, teaches them basic construction skills, and encourages leadership development. Participants earn a stipend while in the program, and are provided case management to assist in breaking down personal barriers that might hinder their success. 21st CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER (21CCLC) The 21st Century Community Learning Center program provides After School enrichment and summer camp programs to school aged children from low income families. Since 2007, the program has worked with the families of the participants in partnership with Benjamin Banneker Elementary and Middle School to host PRIME TIME, a family reading program that meets for six weeks in the spring. FREEDOM SCHOOL The Freedom School is a summer reading program for school aged children.
