King's! We need your help with compiling and launching our access blog. We have collected a few entries already, but still need plenty more, and we really don't want to have to nag people during term time so if you have 20 minutes spare in the next few weeks, please give this a go!!! If you would like to contribute, at the moment we're looking for around 500 words about your application process: What made you apply to King's? What do you wish you had known before applying? What would you tell yourself if you were to apply again? How did it feel to interview/get accepted/get your results? Any little bits about your experience when applying, either at interview or otherwise. **(Please try your best to avoid giving specific 'this will get you accepted' tips! We're more looking for a personal perspective of what it's actually like to go through, so it feels that little bit more human and little less daunting for prospective applicants.)** Also, feel free to write about your King's experience since getting in: the build-up to arriving as a fresher, snippets of freshers week, or just your general favourite things about studying and living here, basically: what is it that makes that stressful period all worth it. If you would like to contribute, please send us your entries to Thank you!! xxx

This is an upsetting post, so please only read it if you feel able to. CN: death of a student, funeral — King's, Just under a month ago, on 21 June, a first-year King's student, Sam Harding-Miller, passed away unexpectedly at his home. The family would love for as many King's students to join them at the funeral to celebrate Sam's life and to say goodbye. The funeral will be held in a few days, on Wednesday 22 July at 10:30am. The address is: Chapel at St. Margaret's Cemetery, Maidstone Road, Rochester ME1 3DD The family have asked that those who attend do not wear black. After the service, King's students are also more than welcome to join the family in the private function room of the Crown, 2 High Street, Rochester, ME1 1PT If you'd like directions or more details, you can email Sam's dad, Richard Harding, at — College and KCSU will be holding a memorial event for Sam at King's in Michaelmas – we'll e-mail around details after term starts. For support – Please don't hesitate email whoever you feel most comfortable talking to. This could be the Chaplain, Dean, your tutor or the Senior Tutor.
