Small local boutique coffee roaster, selling exclusively Kona coffee roasted to order. Kolea NEVER sits on the shelf after roasting.

Description

Quite simply I am a lover of all things coffee, I enjoy preparing it by different methods and I enjoy sampling coffees from different roasters from all over the globe. When I vacation a stop to a local roaster, shop or even farm is on my agenda. I started home roasting a few years back, this grew to include friends and family. Then last fall my wife's friend contacted us about selling her Kona coffee here in the 907. I was so excited I told her I would do it for free! So what are we, well let me tell you what we aren't, we aren't Kaladi, we have only 250 pounds of coffee per harvest thats it. We don't roast coffee and then sell it, we sell it and then roast it. Our goal is to have your coffee to you asap, some times same day. Hard to believe but throughout much of history coffee was roasted at home, in small batches. In some cases it was roasted right on the street by vendors; imagine wandering through the streets of Naples, and smelling coffee roasting off of balconies. Most roasters, use a lot of equipment and gadgets I don't, I want to pay homage to old world roasting; I do it by sight, sound, smell and time. I haven't had any complaints yet. Fellow Alaskans let me put it too you like this, the best coffee is fresh, less than a week old, no storage method can compensate for this. Once you have had it you can't go back. Then there is Kona coffee once it shared the fate of its cousin California wine, relegated to filler for cheap blends. No more, it is arguably one of the best coffees in the world, and a very unique in flavor. The combination of fresh and Kona are basically unbeatable.
