Colleen Kosti wrote the curriculum for the courses, having over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry - beginning as a professional model, fashion designer stylist, Aesthetician, College Educator, Award Winning Sculptured Nail Artistry & Hand Painting Nail Artist, Fantasy Design Makeup Artist, Salon Owner, and curriculum writer. Her nail artistry has been featured on the Cover of Nail Pro and Gloss Magazines, along with articles in countless newspapers, radio show interviews, and television shows, nationally and internationally. She won her first nail competition in 1985, with sculptured nails (on a nail biter no less!) winning first place, over other experienced competitors from New York, California and around the USA. This competition win sent her to Las Vegas Nail Show and Competition in 1986, and she won first place in Hand Painted Nail Artistry, and the following year she won 2 place in Fantasy Makeup Artistry with the overall nail Artistry Theme of 'Your are a Beautiful Creation'. Her Company logo! She continued teaching (since educating at St. Clair College from 1980) with opening her own school in 1986 and a Nail/Aesthetic Salon, until in 1991 pursuing a new direction in developing beauty from the inside out! She went back to school in 1992 to develop her training in family counseling, crisis intervention and Bible theology, and became an ordained minister in 2001. She also developed herself in the 'sacred arts' becoming schooled in Liturgical and lyrical dance, pageantry, banner making, flag twirling and wrote her first book "Developing a Lifestyle of Creative Worship". In 2003 she and her husband founded the non-for-profit Charity "Ministry of Role Modeling the Spirit of Excellence" which has now it's headquarters in it's purchased buildings located at 1012 & 1018 Drouillard Road, Windsor. Spirit of Excellence is a Creativity Training Centre using the Arts & Education to develop skills of Excellence in children, youth and women through instructional after-school programs and courses.

All profits from paid tuition fees, sponsor Spirit of Excellence Children's programs for low income / at-risk children to attend the School of Excellence, Fitness, Healthy Meal Nourishment program, Flag & Arts Training Programs.

Inspiring Lives of Excellence Mentoring in Excellence At Spirit of Excellence, we strive to enable young people to enhance their lives, leading by example and letting them know they are not limited to their surroundings or circumstances—they can be resourceful—they can achieve that dream! We work with artists and professionals, locally and globally, to help young people discover their unique, God-given creativity and develop mastery and leadership skills in a creative, safe, confidence-building environment. Spirit of Excellence’s programs bring in young people from all ethnic, economic, and educational backgrounds. Sponsorship and scholarship programs enable students from underprivileged areas to participate fully. At SOE, we are all on the same team! Within Windsor’s urban community, we have provided mentoring in the creative arts (including writing, dance, acting, music, drumming, flags, and more) and in personal and professional skills (including image & poise, communication & public speaking, hygiene, cosmetology, computer skills, and working with media). Far more than just another after-school program, we train students in the building blocks of life! The Spirit of Excellence Creativity Training Centre services the Windsor, Ontario, area, specifically the Drouillard Road neighbourhood. Today, founders Colleen & John Kosti are going beyond the urban community to take the vision and expertise of SOE around the globe. Established in 2003 Spirit of Excellence purchased the buildings it is currently has it's headquarters and Training Centre in June 2005. Through the community need, Camp Excellence was developed with over 900 lessons in developing potential through the arts and education. This is a successful kids summer camp and after school programs, and has served the community of the inner city of Windsor for over 5 years through providing free healthy meals, life skills of excellence, creative arts instruction and leadership courses for children and teens. Being located in this neighbourhood community really gave another dimension to Spirit of Excellence's identity, establishing SOELIT, Spirit of Excellence Leaders In Training program, which was awarded a $75,000 grant from OTF. These are a result of over 30 years experience in imparting self esteem building programs for children and young women using life skills as well as beauty, personal image and vocational training courses. The third component has always been a main focus, of using the arts to develop personal expression, and for Biblical studies in Ministry through education in the arts. Spirit of Excellence is now an accredited Extension School of Worship Arts from Destiny School of Ministry, recognized by the State of Michigan and the EACM, overseeing schools and ministries around the world.
