Helping students succeed in their academic and home settings using evidence based learning strategies

Description

Currently, our education system does not allow an autistic child to reach their full potential. This is because we tend to focus on weaknesses. Here at Kuebiko we realize there are a lot of different things that a student with autism has to offer and we want to focus on those strengths. We understand that there a lot of factors that go into the student's academic performance. Autistic students not only have diverse learning preferences, but they also require an emotionally, culturally and socially inclusive environment. Parents and teachers do not have the time or the correct resources to do this research. Thus, sometimes it is difficult to provide a personalized at home or at-school learning experience. We want to change that! Kuebiko allows teachers to personalize academic success for students with autism by generating learning strategies that focus on the students’ assets. Currently, teachers Google different learning strategies for each student, which takes up a significant portion of their time. Kuebiko considers intersectionality by generating a broad checklist of the students’ emotional, social, skills, culture, and learning needs. It also provides a research database in addition to the learning strategies. One of our differentiating factors is our feedback loop. Through our input criteria; teachers are able to input each student's personalized criteria and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies. If the evidence-based learning strategies were not effective the program will reassess and present the user with another set of curated inputs to better assign a strategy. Another important feature of Kuebiko is its communication tool: this tool would help parents monitor which evidence-based learning strategies are being implemented and whether or not they are successful. This is to promote consistency at both home and school.
