General Info

The L. H. Bluford Branch Library was dedicated in 1988 and is named for Lucile H. Bluford, publisher and editor of the Kansas City Call. Parents as Teachers- KCPT Reads! Parents as Teachers, KCPT Channel 19, and Kansas City Public Library present a program for infant to 8 year-olds based on books, songs, games, and stories! Each child will receive a free book. This program is offered every third Thursday of the month at the L.H. Bluford Library from 4:30-5:30 PM. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in order to participate in the program. High Aspirations Every first and second Saturday from 10:00 - 12:00 A program for African American males, participants are assisted in social, emotional, spiritual, and academic growth.
