As written in my Formula for Success book that was published in 2009, you must be able to do three things in order to achieve success. First, you have to become an effective listener. The most successful communicators have 'effective listening' as one of their strongest qualities. They understand the benefits of learning this skill, such as increased trust and credibility, increased profits, increased sells and increased productivity. To become an effective listener, use C-A-R-E-S-S. Secondly, you must be willing to learn new skills. Learning is without a doubt a very important step in this three-step process. You must be willing to invest in your education. A solid academic background is the only way you will be able to brand yourself as expert in this industry. Finally, you must be able to lead (or be Led). To become an effective leader you must be able to successfully communicate assertiveness, confidence, leadership, responsibility and boldness. By following someone who is already an effective leader, you gain the experience and confidence that you need to become a leader yourself. A great many experts agree that anyone who wants to become successful in their business stand a better chance at it when you receive guidance from a mentor. When you are looking to climb the ladder of success and become an expert in your field, you would fare well from following in the footsteps of a great mentor. In summary, the L3 Success Formula for Success, Listen+Learn+Lead=Success, is a valuable set of skills that will help you effectively grow your business and brand yourself as the authority in your niche. Use this formula in your business and teach your subordinates to do the same. By doing so, you will get further in this industry than you could have ever imagined.
