La Rambla Tapas Bar welcomes you to experience the tastes of Spain. Catalan style tapas, montaditos and sangria! Keeping it simple yet sensational is the way tapas should be. The word ‘Tapa’ traditionally means ‘to cover’ or ‘lid’ for sweet sticky sherry. It became customary to serve this tapa with the sherry to keep the flies from landing in the drink. The word ‘montadito’ means ‘to mount’ and this is small slices of bread that are mounted with a variety of quality ingredients. Montaditos are not your typical manicured cocktail appetizer, they are rough-edged, rustic finger food. La Rambla Tapas Bar wanted to create a sense of traditional meets modern without tapas, montaditos losing their original purpose. You can find yourself at the bar experiencing the power packed flavours and colours from the tapas and montaditos menu. These will send you delving into the tradition that was once peasant food, that today we embrace as an excitable and sociable way to eat. There are times when your appetite wants something more than and tidbit but not the whole feast…maybe you would prefer to graze on the warm comforting dishes from our tapas list, either way you can be assured that you will be impressed with the quality and presentation of all. Tapas is a great way to try fresh local produce by having lots of little tidbits rather than a whole meal. We have kept our tapas menu simple, as it should be, with the use of the highest quality, local where possible, ingredients that let the fresh and wholesome flavours take the stage. La Rambla Tapas Bar is a three story heritage building that offers two bars, an upstairs outdoor deck and a chilled out lounge area. With ample room La Rambla Tapas Bar is a great place to swing in for a bite over lunch or a relaxed place to mingle after work. Spend days and nights grazing through our menu and sipping on sangria until you are satisfied. Bold and subtle! Robust and interesting! A perfect balance is what we had in mind when piecing together our menu. You won’t find a meal, nor will you find a platter, what you will find is a selection of small bites to please your appetite!
