LAFCO—Luxury Articles and Fragrance Company—was established over 20 years ago when founder, Jon Bresler, quit his job as a lawyer to pursue his passion for body care. In 1992, Jon began travelling across Europe, foraging for hard-to-find specialty items and learning about how they were made. He supplemented his research with a self-imposed apprenticeship to study the nuances of alchemy and perfumery. As Jon grew fascinated with the rich histories of these disciplines, he envisioned LAFCO as a company that would actively participate in their preservation. LAFCO grew as Jon trained with internationally renowned creators of natural skincare and perfumes, and eventually imported their entire collections. He carefully maintained the spirit and integrity of every line as he brought them together to recreate an authentic European apothecary experience in his native New York. When Jon began creating his own collection of products, he sought creative expertise to help elevate LAFCO from savvy importer to world-class product developer. Vincent LaRouche, a seasoned artist and skilled designer of Parisian couture, joined LAFCO as Creative Director in 2001. Together they began developing original products that incorporated Jon’s proficiency in fine fragrance and botanical skincare with Vincent’s creative prowess. In 2007, Jon and Vincent conceptualized the House & Home Collection to celebrate their passion for fragrance, design, and elegant home décor. And, as they continued to import unique artisanal collections, LAFCO’s reputation as makers and tastemakers of authentic luxury articles and fragrance solidified. The combined knowledge of the LAFCO team enables them to create authentically luxurious, exceptionally made products that enchant modern connoisseurs and amateurs alike. As they steer the direction and growth of LAFCO, they honor the history of the European apothecary and accent it with distinctly current points of view.
