Lambert’s Yard is an independent concept store and creative event space in Leeds City Centre.

Description

Lambert’s Yard first opened its doors in winter 2013 as a pop-up shop and exhibition space. Its mission was to allow access to the previously disused building for the first time in decades and support the strongest independent designers across fashion and lifestyle. As an independent and creatively led project, the concept was rooted in re-imagining a previously unused urban space into something new and exciting, supporting independent brands and designers, and establishing Leeds as an international centre for independent design and manufacture. In November 2014 Lambert’s Yard opened permanently, as both a physical and online space. We are a concept store and flexible event space, representing both emerging and established designers across fashion and lifestyle. The design-led space features an ever-changing, curated collection of brands, unavailable elsewhere in the city. In addition, we host a seasonal programme of creative and cultural events and our beautiful and contemporary event space is available for hire. We are also home to the Leeds Fashion Initiative, set up in collaboration with Regeneration Through the Arts, Leeds City Council and the Centre for Fashion Enterprise (CFE) (part of the London College of Fashion). This marks the CFE’s first project working with fashion designers outside of London. The initiative aims to support emerging fashion designers and promote Leeds as a leading international centre for fashion design and textile manufacture. At the heart of Lambert’s Yard is Lambert’s House, the only remaining 17th Century triple decker building in Leeds city centre. Both the building and the yard take their name from the wealthy Lambert family, owners during the 1800’s. With the first phase of restoration complete, the remaining courtyard buildings and Lambert’s House are being restored as part of an exciting ongoing project to develop a space like no other.
