Winona Bontrager, our director, founded the Lancaster School of Massage (LSM) in September of 1991.Envisioning a massage therapy instruction program that encompassed the whole person, focusing on practical skills, as well as self awareness and interpersonal relationships. This multi-layered approach provides a strong foundation for students to become well-rounded, and professional massage therapists. LSM held its first classes in the Keppel Candy factory building on North Queen Street, and in 1999? moved just afew doors down, to our current location, on the second floor of 317 North Queen Street. Lancaster is located in close proximity to the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC metropolitan areas, and has a thriving life ofit's own as a regional center for agriculture, industry, touristism and a blossoming art scene. In addition to the Lancaster School of Massage there are several major colleges in the area, one of the highest ranked hospitals in the country, and a growing variety of natural health centers and activities. Winona continues to lead the highly-trained staff, and instruct students, using the same founding principles on which LSM was built nearly 20 years ago.
