Langs is a dynamic community development organization that engages local residents and agency partners to offer comprehensive health and social services. Langs was established as a community development project in 1978 by a group of citizens and service providers concerned about vandalism and the lack of accessible services in the Langs community. These individuals believed that the establishment of a community-based organization would play a positive and preventative role in the neighbourhood. Our primary catchment area is the densely populated Langs neighbourhood in Preston of Cambridge, Ontario. Our Community Health Centre provides health-related assistance to the residents of the community and over 1000 patients who reside in Galt and Hespeler, other divisions of the City of Cambridge.

Description

Langs consistently demonstrates an ability to effectively develop and implement a broad range of social, health, recreational and vocational programs and services for people of all ages. Together, our staff and over 230 volunteers, provide over100 essential programs and services to over 8,000 children, youth and families each year.
