I address issues around multiculturalism in North America. I focus on cross-cultural relations, particularly in the experience of religious minorities in secular public space, while looking at the intersection of religious convictions, history, culture, and gender, and the impact these have on public attitudes and policies. I specialize in how religious dress communicates expectations and norms, both challenging and entrenching the communities they operate within. I write and speak on these and related issues, and how organizations, companies, and communities can understand and gain from the advantages of social diversity.
