I specialize in internet defamation. Defamation in written form is called "libel." (Oral defamation is "slander.") Libel is a false statement of fact written about a person or business which injures their reputation, is "published" to someone else, and causes damage. These "reviews" might be posted on, for example, yelp.com or google.com. Remember, not all negative reviews are legally actionable. They are not legally actionable if 1) they are true, or 2) generally speaking, if the review is an opinion, as opposed to a factual statement. Opinions state the subjective impressions of the reviewer, as opposed to objective statements of fact.
