Here's some information that might interest you sent in by a follower... Hello! I really find Lee to be an insiration! So... Here are some dietary health and fitness tips from the ancient Hindu medicinal system called the "Ayurveda" ... (more than 5000 years old - it really works! Hindus have been treating many conditions such as diabetes with great success for thousands of years! Recently a friend of mine who suffers from kidney cancer started using Ayurvedic principles - his health has improved greatly!) In Ayurvedic medicine, we Hindus make an effort to keep the outer body (skin and such) acidic and the inner body (blood, internal organs, etc...) alkaline - as this is ideal condition for the human body. When this is done correctly, your body is stronger, heals and grows faster, and you are much more resistant to fatigue and disease. So - a simple and easy method to attain this ideal state is to cut down on foods and beverages which increase the acidity in your blood. Most forms of alcohol increase internal acidity - especially wine. Whiskey is the only form of alcohol which does not do this. Excessive intake of coffee also increases acidity inside the body - so try to reduce your coffee intake or give it up if you can and take other healthier forms of caffeine for extra energy: a little bit of chocolate is a much healthier alternative! Even some vegetables are not good to be eaten in large quantities - cauliflower is the main one to avoid due to the blood acidity effects causes. All citrus fruits - even though they are acidic - are good. The stomach acids and bile alter the ph balance of citric acid when these fruits are consumed - so they are not an issue in terms of internal ph balance. The other excellent food for athletes, bodybuilders and people who perform very physical activities in their daily lives are bananas. Ayurvedic medicine has prescribed a high intake of bananas for soldiers and warriors for thousands of years. They help tremendously to increase muscle mass and fight against muscular atrophy and other damage. Hope you find this interesting and something to consider in fitness and general well-being! BACK TIP: The most important thing to do on every rep of every set of every back workout is to squeeze it. Most of the time the reason you can't grow your back is because you can't feel it. Hold the contracted position of each back lift for one second and if you still can't feel your back working you are probably still performing the movement incorrectly. Lee Stram.
DIET TIP: Eat meat. Aim for about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, which is roughly the maximum amount your body can use in a day!
