iPads for all Masters Students The integration of iPads in the delivery of our MSc is a recent development which aims to modernise the learning environment. Moving away from 'paper-based' learning, this method of teaching will help you make the most of your studies and become a more professional individual. iPads are integrated into programme delivery and assessment, and the device will also allow you to access unrivalled business coverage and insightful analysis of international business issues through various authoritative electronic resources, helping you make sense of the fast-changing international business landscape. All students on taught postgraduate masters courses at Leeds University Business School will be given IPads upon registration with the University.
LUBS Student iPad Representatives The Leeds University Business School is looking to recruit 6 Divisional Student iPad Representatives to support the use of iPads with their fellow student cohort. A student from each division (Accounting and Finance, Economics, International Business, Management, Marketing and Work and Employment Relations) will be recruited. These roles are open to current Leeds University Business School Postgraduate students and will commence from September 2015. 3 hours per week over 18 weeks (54 hours total) To be completed during Semesters 1 & 2 2015/16 academic year. Salary: £7.67 per hour Role specification: To work under the direction of the Director of Enhancement and the Blended Learning Team. To work closely with the other Student iPad Representatives to promote the use of the iPad and applications within your student cohort. More specifically, this role will involve: Attending an iPad training session on best practice and guidance for use within your studies. Acting as the first main contact point for all iPad student queries, including management of and active participation in regular ‘drop-in’ sessions for students, and associated social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Email), and liaison with the Blended Learning Team where appropriate. Between the appointed Representatives provide student representation at the Faculty Blended and Digital Learning Steering Group. Commitment to support students (using a variety of communications and media). Generally supporting students with the use of their devices, including set-up of devices, troubleshooting issues, offering tips and sharing useful apps that you have found. Gaining an awareness of how the iPads have been used across your associated programmes and producing a written report. A template will be provided. Essential Person Criteria Be a current 15/16 Business School Postgraduate student A high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to manage own workload and to prioritise tasks. Good digital/technical awareness Working knowledge of digital technologies (in particularly iPads and associated apps). Closing Date: Wednesday 16th September 2015 4pm Shortlisted candidates will be contacted on Thursday 17th September, and interviews will be held on Friday 18th September 2015.
