A school for students ages 4-18 where all were are free to spend their time as they wish as equal members of a self-governing community. The Leeway Sudbury School was an alternative, non-profit private school for students ages 4-18 located in the Mount Helix neighborhood of San Diego. Leeway is based on the Sudbury model of education, which was first developed by the Sudbury Valley School in 1968.
At Leeway, students had a right to pursue their happiness. They were free to spend their time as they wish -- exploring interests not only at their own pace, but at their own discretion. Every member of the school, students and staff alike, had an equal vote in every aspect of how the school is run.
