We are a community based eating disorders support and consulting service. We offer meal support, post-meal support, emotional support, distress tolerance skills, life skills, goal planning, mindfulness and relaxation skills, and grocery shopping support.

Description

We are a team comprised of a nurse and a youth and family counsellor with many years of experience in the eating disorders field. We are working together to offer support in the community to individuals battling eating disorders as they move towards recovery. We firmly believe and have witnessed that recovery is possible despite how long one has struggled with an eating disorder. We believe that individuals need to build positive life experiences and interests to help them recover goals and dreams that may have been lost. Our goal is to help youth, young adults, and adults to develop a healthy self-image and create personally meaningful lives in order to promote recovery from the grips of an eating disorder. We desire to help clients identify their strengths, talents, values and personality traits that will enable them to create a plan for success. The factors that keep eating disorders in place are different for each individual; therefore, our consulting services are designed to identify the personalized support that each individual needs to move toward recovery. We believe physical health restoration is a fundamental step toward emotional recovery. To facilitate this process, we offer therapeutic meal support as a unique service in the community. We are also available to meet with families who are supporting their children in recovery. We offer services such as: Grocery shopping support Meal preparation support Meal planning Meal support Post-meal support Coaching Distress tolerance skills Emotional support Meal support and post meal support training for family and friends Mindfulness and relaxation skills Life skills training Goal planning Volunteer and Resume support Education pertaining to eating disorders and recovery Therapeutic Interventions Advocacy with medical personnel Provides links to community resources
