Every day is a special day at Little Stars Montessori. We provide a full Montessori curriculum that encourages young children to explore their environment and express themselves freely. Our program is designed to encourage children to use their natural curiosity in a creative approach to problem solving and decision-making. We have a "hands on" approach to learning through play. Our curriculum allows for active and quiet play, group activities and individual growth opportunities. Our low teacher/student ratio enables our staff to create a warm and secure environment for each child. To the young child, everything is exploration and discovery, and this is inherently fun to them — and so they will work very hard at it. At Little Stars Montessori we strive to develop a solid foundation and a lifelong love of learning. Through creative play and exploration, program objectives are reinforced. Students develop a love of learning as well as a sense of responsibility and independence. This is achieved through a balanced program where young students are provided with opportunities for individual differences within a carefully structured learning environment. The "whole child" is considered, including social, emotional, intellectual and physical development, with constant attention to the safety and well being of each child. Children learn about themselves and the world around them, while developing positive self-esteem and self-confidence. They are encouraged to be self-motivated and self-disciplined while learning to respect themselves and those around them. These positive attributes are all taught and developed within the framework of Maria Montessori's approach; teaching young children what they are naturally attracted to. An appreciation of nature, beauty through the study and making of art, musical expression and poetry. In this way, we strive to enrich the whole child, making their hearts sing and feeding their inherent curiosity and desire to learn, with meaningful and fulfilling activities.
