General Info

Brief history of the Lost Tribes Zulus NJ Chapter: We began officially as apart of the Universal Zulu Nation on July 31, 2000 in Newark New Jersey. The leader of the chapter at this time was Raphael "Wadi" Mejia also known through out our Nation as Zulu King Wadi, Leader Of New Jersey for the Universal Zulu Nation after Zulu King Raheem stepped down. Under Wadi we remain underground but not silent for about 2years, than we branched our chapter into the Hudson County area opening up Jersey City Lost Tribes. Than about the end of 2002 begining of '03 We branched out into Long Island and Puerto Rico. Long Island remains the 2nd longest running branch of the Lost Tribes Zulus Chapter, all other branches have long since fell off and members are no longer in contact therefore are no longer active in the eyes of Lost Tribes and the Universal Zulu Nation. Long Island, Lost Tribes although have been on a stand still since 2011 are still an active part of our family. they were known through New York as a disciplined and good chapter. they were very active on many different levels in NYC and played a serious role in our development over the years until they settled in the background. Its leaders and some of the members are still around, they just have been dealing with many personal matters and some choose to stay on stand still until we finalize our reconstruction of the foundation to this chapter. Lost Tribes Zulus has for years been through many ups and downs, with many different struggles that has been a tough fight to overcome. But, as the turn of 2013 Lost Tribes turned a new leaf under new leadership overviewed by Zulu King Wadi. This Chapter took a whole new direction, with the reclaiming of his Lost Tribes family Brother Victor "Enok" Gavilanes alongside Ahki Abdul Malik a long time member of the Universal Zulu Nation, originally from the "Aliens chapter" lead by T.C. Islam. They both worked hard to rebuild a chapter on the decline, Lost Tribes Zulus NJ started with only 8 members in which 5 were registered under the Universal Zulu Nation and 3 unregistered. It then from determination and dedication began to build bringing in new members with different mindsets that has all helped create such a solid and diverse foundation. The Cultural and Spiritual background that has now been placed into this group of young men and women has set a strong unity amongst this chapter. We have set programs in our communty to help clean up areas in Essex County known as "The Beautification of The Bricks", we have rallied and protested alongside other grassroot organizations like P.O.P., New Black Panther Party, the N.A.V.C., and the New Teachers Union. We also begun to finally get into the arts of the Hip Hop culture, which is the soul of the Universal Zulu Nation, We have done parties, been apart of events, even did our thing in open mic sessions and as of March 2014 we even started our own radio show, StrangeNations host by our Brother Doc Strange with our Dj 2fast as a tour guide through the multiverse of music. On the flip side we even have a Brother SenOne who with his Queen even work together developing a T.V. show on a local cable access channel in New York City educating the community about True Hip Hop culture and the Universal Zulu Nations impact in society. In 1 year from when the changes began we have been able to establish ourselves in the surrounding community, colleges, and in the eyes of politicians. We have grown to 17 members registered in the Universal Zulu Nation and 5 unregistered and counting, the energy lives within everyone who becomes apart of this chapter. Focusing on developing leaders and constant strategic changes keeps us motivated and alive to keep moving foward in this Chapter. We look to help rebuild our Long Island branch and hopes they can become better than we are in the future. Let us end this off on this note, we even have a small chapter building up in Columbia, South America which are some young strong dedicated Breakers. The love in this Chapter comes from the acceptance of treating eachother as family and also as motivators to one another, a family united even has its ups and downs but if we continue to push through we will continue to spread our nature into the people we come across.
