Since the beginning of time we have all tried to defy the inevitable - getting older. As we age, we wrinkle, and those lines make us feel less like our youthful selves. Although millions of dollars are spent globally on Botox and fillers, which have been the standard of care in recent years, new advancements in facial rejuvenation can be found in the form of stem cell therapy. Dr. Cherukupally and her staff at Lotus Medical Wellness are committed to providing the greater Atlanta area with top of line facial aesthetic care including: Botox, dermal fillers, and stem cell therapy in the form of Amnion tissue. Pallavi Cherukupally, MD is a board certified physiatrist, specializing in interventional spine care in the Atlanta area for nearly a decade. Her specialties include epidural spine injections for the neck, mid back, and low back; radio frequency procedures; spinal cord stimulators; and stem cell injections. Recently, she took an interest in facial aesthetics and is certified through the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine. She now has her own facial aesthetics business, Lotus Medical Wellness, whose mission is to provide top notch aesthetic care to the greater Atlanta area as well provide a new dynamic in facial aesthetics through the use of stem cell therapy. Amnion injectable allografts are derived from the placenta of live, healthy, Caesarean donors. In addition to protecting the fetus and playing a role in fetal development by being a rich source of nutrition, the placenta is comprised of collagens, growth factors, multi potent cells and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which provide a structural matrix for cell growth, while regulating scar adhesions and inflammation. Together these properties deliver a regenerative soup to enhance and proliferate healing. Amniotic allografts have been scientifically documented and clinically proven to be efficacious in a wide array of surgical applications as well as a better and safer alternative to less effective methods of rejuvenation such as plasma rich protein (PRP), collagen fillers, and Botox. As mentioned previously, amnion is a rich regenerative soup which can supply the facial tissues with necessary components for advanced healing and wrinkle reduction. The presence of collagens have the potential to diminish facial lines, while the anti-scarring properties have the potential to improve the appearance of recessed scars. This treatment can be applied by injecting the amnion directly into the facial tissue similar to Botox or applied as topical rub following dry needling. The end result is facial tissue that has been supplied with a rich source of rejuvenating factors without the potential of harmful affects of synthetic neurotoxins or other chemical fillers. Amnion products go through an intense screening and testing process to ensure their safety. All products are derived from screened, healthy, Caesarean donors and no harm comes to the fetus itself, which in turn raises no ethical concerns. There have been no documented cases of rejection from amnion derived products as they express immune privileged properties.
