The food revolution is in full flow. Who would have thought of lobster or foie gras in a burger in the nineties? Madeleine Cafe is doing exactly the same ... but with waffles. Waffles - greasy fair food with no taste? Or delicious, warm, sugary, scrummy treats that take you back to being a toddler? Whatever your memories of these little grids of joy, you'll love the quality, care, and little bit of French savoir-faire we put into ours. So why are we called Madeleine if we're cooking waffles ? Well you all know that little story from Marcel Proust ? When he takes a bite from that Madeleine and is all the sudden sent back to his childhood ... That exactly the power of waffles on me. But even if everyone's "Madeleine" is not particularly that lovely french cake, to grace our name, we obviously didn’t forget them on the menu.
