Welcome to Madison Elementary, the new home of the Schenley Heights Development Program! We strive daily to facilitate the transformation of our Pittsburgh communities into an academic environment and infrastructure that can attract, retain, and sustain families and successfully educated leaders and instruments of change. WHY? Without intervention in their schooling, there is no way we can expect our children to be successful, in college or otherwise. HOW? We believe that all community change begins first and foremost with the youth. Therefore, we hold that by starting as early as preschool, we can provide our children with the elite education that they deserve. By providing personal attention and mentorship, first-rate and cutting edge facilities on the cusp of the STEM fields and robotics, as well as innovative teaching methods and education techniques, we will change our community, starting with the roots. 1. We recently acquired the Madison Elementary School, an abandoned and displaced school building in the Hill District, with goals of renovation and the creation of an independent school. 2. The institute (pre-k through 12) will continue to foster growth and educate until graduation, providing an elite education to students who lack educational opportunities in the education desert in our Pittsburgh communities. 3.The development of educated and driven youth will lead to informed, successful adults and a vibrant community in the future. WHAT CAN YOU DO? Help us continue to make an impact in the community! We have set our goal at a million dollars by the 2016-17 school year, with renovations on the institute beginning the following school year and the full pre-k through 12 school running fully by 2019.
