Lola Stonehill is a certified clinical herbalist whose mission is to help students find their individual paths to developing themselves as herbalists. Because herbalism is an art as well as a science, students will be encouraged to weave their own tapestry of herbal medicine and magic. Her experience as a clinician and her exposure to the teachings of many great herbalists of our time will allow students to familiarize themselves with common medicinal herbs in their area, as well as Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. The school offers a variety of small classes with flexible scheduling and location for students at all levels. Now accepting students for 6 week courses (2 hours/week), single specialty classes, and personal health consultations. 15 week courses cover introductory and advanced concepts, including: -Herbal actions -Herbal energetics -Medicine making (tinctures, infusions, decoctions, etc.) -The body systems (immune, digestive, endocrine, respiratory, nervous, cardiovascular, urinary, musculoskeletal, skin)- preventative health and healing and herbs for each system -Food as medicine Examples of single specialty classes: -Aphrodisiac herbs and chocolate -Herbs for improved cognitive function -Herbs for anxiety, depression, and insomnia -Herbal first aid Lola also offers individual consultations for health management, and individual research on topics of interest.
