Growing food without the use of herbicides or pesticides, our fruits and vegetables are as fresh as it gets.
At Main Street Acres, we grow all of our fruits, vegetables, and flowers inside in a special hydroponic system. This means we do not use herbicides or pesticides on our plants to allow for natural growth which results in better tasting foods. Because it is an indoor system, we have 4 growing seasons and can grow anything, at any time, meaning you could have a fresh picked strawberry in December right here in Omaha. Right now, we have over 20 different types of plants including different varieties of the same kind of plant. From peppers to mangos, we have something for everyone. We even added some uncommon names to our collection, which are loaded with natural antioxidants and vitamins that carry more goods than the "same ol' fruit" you're used to. We will be selling at the Omaha farmers market on various weekends, but if you'd like your fruits/veggies/herbs sooner, we'd be happy to deliver to the Omaha and surrounding area.

The weather outside is fluctuating as always, but inside we are rocking a lovely 72 F. The lettuce is growing, the tangerine tree is blooming, and we couldn't be more excited for the holiday season!
The joy of snowfall is upon us. Some of the country is already having their gardens covered in snow. Our plants are just beginning to sprout, safely tucked in a nice, warm room with plenty of light. Stay safe everyone, because unlike our plants, people have to venture out into the cold every now and then!
Main Street Acres has been moving around quite a bit, but this will be our final move into our new grow space. In the past months of silence, we've been hard at work figuring out the ultimate grow set up, and it's finally time to put all that work to good use! In the next few months, we will generate a steady supply of greens along with various types of peppers. We'll let you know when they're ready!
Did you know most papaya is actually modified so it can grow proper and resist disease? There are very few pure strains left, and we tracked down some seeds not only of non-GMO papaya, but also small, personal sized papaya! Many fruits you see are anywhere from 3-8 pounds, which can get pricy. Ours will be a bit bigger than a hand full but perfect for breakfast!
Our goal is to bring the people of Omaha fresh, beautiful produce that's grown right here in the city. We don't use chemicals, GMOs, or treated seeds to bring you the best quality food possible. Not only do we have what you know and love, but we've brought the tropics, the European, the South American, and Asian fruits and vegetables to this humble city. No one should be limited in what they can eat. The more you share this page, the more we can reach out!
