Building engagement through creative conversations. Empowering you to connect with the right people for your business. The story of Make it Strategic is about the marriage of strategy and creativity. Some people think strategy is a dry topic, but when you marry it with creativity it becomes an incredibly powerful and fun way to do business. Together, the two become a dynamic way to share your story and invite others along for the journey to make your business successful and enjoyable. It's about building engagement through creative conversations. My Personal Story: My personal story in the industry began with a degree in communication. I completed my study here in Toowoomba, with a semester with my children in beautiful Canada. This included public relations, marketing, journalism and English literature. Yes, I love writing and reading! I was the child who followed her poor mother around asking her the meaning of words in the books I was devouring! I went on to work for state government and the University of Southern Queensland in communication roles and then moved into the financial advice industry as a communication specialist. The communication specialist role involved many different things, but the focus was on telling the businesses story across social media, the website, email and traditional methods such as media releases and marketing collateral etc. We started achieving great outcomes by using different communication channels to share creative, beneficial content and adding this to our client engagement processes. It was a combination of strategy and creativity, enabling the business to make real connections through conversations with existing clients and online audiences. As more and more people started asking me questions about what I did, I realised I could help other people achieve results too. That is how Make it Strategic came about. How it works: I believe in a client centric approach to communication and engagement. This involves exploring ideas and ways you can provide benefit to your target audience; because by doing this, you build advocates who love what you do and share your business for you. My approach is using integrated and inbound communication/marketing strategies together to create a powerful framework to engage with audiences using your website as a hub. Make it Strategic Logo: Turquoise and copper have been favourite colours of mine since my early years as a teenager working in retail, selling and polishing copper at Copper Art in Townsville. Copper is a classy colour that represents passion, business productivity and professional growth. As it ages it oxidises and acquires a beautiful turquoise sheen. Turquoise is thought to be calming, refreshing and sophisticated. I believe these are all qualities that represent Make it Strategic as a business. The logo and branding were designed by the very talented and lovely Rachel from Milk Studio Designs. I highly recommend her as a graphic designer and a wonderful person to work with.
