MARTIN AUTOPARK COMPANY HISTORY 1941 - MARTIN CHEVROLET COMPANY is founded by B. B. Martin with an investment of $6,000. The original dealership facility was located in downtown Cleveland. 1949 - A. R. Bounds, Jr. joins the company, later becoming General Manager and part owner. 1952 - A fire which started in a neighboring business completely destroys the dealership facility. 1954 - A new facility is built and opened for business at 516 S. Washington. 1958 - MARTIN CHEVROLET-BUICK: The Buick franchise is added. 1971 - Skip Martin joins the dealership full-time. 1977 - Mack Truck franchise is added. 1983 - Skip Martin becomes President upon the passing of B. B. Martin. 1986 - Cleveland Mack Sales moves to its separate facility. 1990 - Brian Bounds and Bob Furman become part owners of the company. 1991 - Tire Shop and Quick Lube are added. 1992 - Reverse-flow paint booth is added to Body Shop. 1992 - MARTIN AUTOPARK: The Pontiac, Oldsmobile and GMC franchises are added. 1993 - The existing facility is extensively remodeled to accommodate the new franchises.
