Description

Hypnotherapy came to me. I didn’t find it. I was in a place of transition as two major life events overcame me… the death of one of my children, then the agony of a family member in the final stages of lung cancer. Like everyone else who struggles, I sought to “figure it out” on my own. Then one day, I went downtown to an office building for an appointment. Searching the marquis, I saw The Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy on the 35 Floor. (Definitely not why I came here…I didn’t even know what ‘hypnotherapy’ meant!) Curiously, my appointment was on the same floor as this Institute. When the elevator doors opened on the 35th floor, I was struck by what felt like a déjà vu. I had been here before…thirty years ago! To the left was where I’d met my (now divorced ) husband of 23 years…and to the right was this Hypnotherapy Institute! Well, this time I was going to get it right! And so I went, toward my future, to become a hypnotherapist. What a revelation it was! A simple way to get past the clutter of information in our conscious mind, to a revolutionary way to listen to the emotions of the subconscious mind. Just because the conscious mind does the thinking for us, doesn’t mean the subconscious mind is not present. They are, after all, inside the same anatomical organ. Why we resist its charms, I can’t understand! Did you know that when you are a child, your future is programmed in your subconscious by the age of 3-7 years old? Our emotions are imprinted by what we see, hear and feel, thus what we believe. The lucky child is the one whose parent was the positive protector and careful with his words and actions, offering positive behaviors for you to imprint! The negative emotions you may have been taught during those tender years can’t be unlearned by the conscious mind. However, the subconscious mind, with a little help by hypnosis, can reveal the memory of the negative events that caused your beliefs that causes your present-day symptoms (anxieties, compulsions, anger, alcohol or drug abuse behaviors). Hypnotherapy is a loving method that brings hidden conflicts to your consciousness though understanding and forgiveness, then transforms negative beliefs into a healed heart and to your new reality. I'm so grateful that I turned right into my future!
