Mash Army Rentals want you out exploring beyond the tourist buses. We believe in adventure and we love dirt roads. We believe travel should be rich in experience, it should take you to places you don't expect, it should immerse you in the local area and surprise you. Mash Army Rentals has designed a fleet of Ex-Army Land Rovers to take you beyond the bitumen to places that will leave you in awe of this country. Our expedition vehicles can be configured with: - 2 single person Sarj Major canvas swags (for use inside our outside the vehicle) - Lockable bed floor inside the vehicle for peace of mind while exploring - elevated sleeping position in the back of the vehicle provides more ventilation and safety in the Outback - keyed safe for storing valuables - 65lt fuel tank - 2 x 20lt Diesel Jerry Cans for diesel supplies - 2 x 20lt water containers for outback travel - sand/mud mats for extreme recovery - mosquito net for peaceful sleep - helicopter slinging points (no real use but cool to have) - 2 burner, high-flow gas stove (for boiling the billy fast) - gas bottle - Genuine Bedourie camp oven (pot, pan and oven) - cooking and eating gear for 2 people - basic vehicle supplies for remote areas - central diff lock for extreme conditions - light truck tyres for solid performance on dirt roads - Canvas canopy with sides that roll up for perfect sleeping conditions - air-compressor for adjusting air pressure in tyres for outback travel - tyre gauge with instructions on recommended travel pressures - additional military lighting for sneaking up on the enemy (cool feature but completely useless if not in a war) - Kenwood amplifier and marine grade speakers with a headphone adaptor for plugging in your i-phone, android, i-pod and any device with a headphone socket - 2 standard plug car charger points (cigarette lighter type) - 2 USB charger points for keeping phones up to charge - Military strength bull bar for keeping you safe on outback roads - roofrack for strapping essentials on top (30kg max) - basic recovery kit including snatch strap, winch extension strap, 2 x D-shackles - seating for two people only (if there's more than 2, get a second vehicle and go in convoy) - camouflage paint for standing out. Ironic but you stand out in an army vehicle, lap up the attention! You can rent a Mashie for $130 per day with most extras from between $1 - $10 per day. For total peace of mind while traveling we hire and recommend the following extras: - GME, UHF, 5 Watt hand held radio (good for communicating with other road users and essential if exploring in a convoy) - Iridium hand held, satellite phone (critical for remote area safety) - VMS 7 inch global positioning system with full outback maps and street navigation. Go outback without getting lost - 50 litre esky for keeping things cool (ice is available at most outback roadhouses) - first aid kits So that's about it. We gear our Mashies up for your specific needs, to get you out there exploring in unique fashion. We want you on dirt roads and can recommend trips out of Adelaide to maximise your time and your experience. Weather will dictate where you can go and what you can do. We can help you with that, not the weather, but how to make the most of whatever the weather. At the moment rentals are limited to South Australia within 700kms of Adelaide and along the Oodnadatta and Birdsville Tracks as part of an expedition.
