Matt is a qualified Horticulturalist and Tree Surgeon, working locally in North Leeds. His allotment began as a hobby and as a means of self-sufficiency.

Description

Following a very good summer in 2013, I decided to make jams and chutneys to use up the surplus fruit and vegetables from my allotment in Hyde Park, Leeds. In my work as a Landscape Gardener, I noticed that many of my customers had fruit trees in their gardens with amazing crops going unpicked. Fruit was soon exchanged for work or logs! Having developed the creating bug, I went on to make more unusual preserves from produce foraged locally (either in woodland or in the aforementioned gardens) such as rosehips, plums, rowan berries, elderberries, sloes, damsons, crab apples and the more rarely found, wonderfully perfumed quince. These jars make great gifts, for family or friends, or as a tasty treat for you!
