Description

It was 1945 when Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford-educated teacher, befriended American troops stationed at Quezon City, Philippines. Soldiers would visit his home for a drink or two; since they were so pleased by his hospitality they insisted they pay for their meals. It was then that Maximo decided to open a cafe that served chicken, steak and drinks.
