Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my page! Please consider following me on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr & Google if you are interested in any element of my work. The links are at the bottom of this section. I have made this description a personal 'bio' to give you a better feel for my work and the context of my work; most especially, what it is that makes Mayastar unique <3 --------------------------------------------- I was born in 1973 and benefited from a Boarding School Education, which I feel now has given me more confidence and focus in my work...it also opened up avenues that a different start may not have...my enjoyment of needlepoint tapestry, writing, art...well...it was a very well rounded education as well as giving me a level of confidence and independence. We even kept farm animals and bees...and extra curricular pursuits or clubs were not just available or encouraged but were actually compulsory. That sounds bad...but it does mean I gained experience in areas I wouldn't have otherwise. Even the bits I thought were boring have served me in the long term...computer literacy, touch typing, costume design for drama group, photography, textiles...I definitely received an intensive education that has set me up for life! And so, my 'bio' as I would describe myself today really seems to be a furthering of personal study, experience and enjoyment of those very things that were made accessible to me then... I enjoy many types of music (both playing and listening). I play guitar, sing, dance (ballet, zumba, pointe) and enjoy many creative pursuits: drawing, painting, design, making accessories & jewellery, modelling independently and in collaboration with other artists. I enjoy studying (and read enthusiastically) theology, art, philosophy, magick, metaphysics and mythology. I also enjoy poetry...and I'm a pretty big fan of well written Fantasy novels too. I also practice ritual magick, spell crafting, witchcraft, Northern shamanism, seidr, galdr, rune magick, mantra meditation & make a study of less conventional magickal areas that I incorporate where appropriate into my own work. Such as mantra medtation, bhakti yoga and even some elements of Enochian ceremonial magick. My background magickally includes initiation to the 3rd degree (High Priestess) in the Gardnerian Tradition and by forming my own coven, the tradition means I assume the title 'Witch Queen'. I have also practiced in Ceremonial Lodges, with Chaotes, elements of Thelema, as part of a Women's Mysteries Lodge and a Shamanic Lodge. My main work magickally (excepting that worked for others in the Lux Aeterna Temple), is based in the Northern Tradition combining Seidr and Galdr Magick and in this regard, I will only work with two other people who are experienced magickally to a similar degree as I am. Spellscrafting and ritual choreography are definitely a speciality of mine! I have studied and practiced in this area for over 20 years, but also enhanced the services I provide students and clients with independent studies including Psychotherapy, Integrated Therapeutic Techniques, Transactional Analysis, Psychoanalysis, Journal Therapy, Intra-Focal Therapy (Inner Healing), Counselling, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Kinesiology, Colour Therapy, Crystal Healing & Creative Visualisation. My main work in this regard is through Mayastar (Lux Aeterna Templum Universitas). I have been teaching and providing magickal and psychic services through Mayastar since 2004 and have taught over 1500 students internationally. I also have assessment based international accreditation through WMA and INHA for my own teaching and for Mayastar as a teaching facility. Through Mayastar Academy I teach web-based distance learning attunement based energy healing & spiritual development courses with certification from basic level up to Advanced Diplomas, Degrees and a Doctorate level for dedicated students. Through Maya Magickal, I offer magickal services, solutions and support through spellwork and shamanic ritual based work as well as intensives and packages that are tailored to each client's particular circumstance. Additionally, I offer Rune Readings with full analysis through Maya Runes, including detailed Life Path Readings & Kinesiological Profiles. In my spare time, as well as enjoying creative pursuits, I am also a fan of tight lacing corsetry which I wear for body modification as part of my art and also for modelling. Many of my creative projects emphasise Pre-Raphaelite & Victorian styles and so this is a big part of my art. But I also enjoy the 'fashion as art' and subculture fashion styles...in particular Steampunk, Lolita, Harajuku, Antoinette, Gypsy, Fairy, Gothic, Modern Primitive and a smidge of Burlesque (which inevitably seems to follow corsetry around!). As far as luxuries go...I can never get enough Grishko pointe shoes (they are by far the best for my feet...I wear a 6.5xxxS Nova - my absolute perfect shoe!), nor enough ballet lessons (in order to model en pointe, I need to put in at least 9 hours a week to maintain my strength & technique). On a more frivolous note, I love bubble baths, Creme de la Mer, Chanel No. 5, Lush, freshwater pearls, high quality incenses (I use them a lot in my work), Lily Flame candles, Fenjal Cream Bath, Body Art Quality Henna for my Hair! Natural supplements for keeping me tip top (kelp, bee pollen, apple cider vinegar, raw honey, propolis, royal jelly, agnus castus). On a decadent note...I also love Sparklewren Corsets, new ballet skirts and leotards, Creme de la Mer Body Cream, couture clothing, Serinde corsets, Boom Boom Baby, Morgana Femme Couture (I have about 40 corsets by MFC in silks, prints and coutil...they are my personal favourite and those I wear for training! And I like to chop and change my corset to match my clothing...but I never buy shoes and handbags so I figure a corset to perfectly complement and ensemble is not really so decadent...just a little different). (An aside...I wear a 20" corset...but when not tight laced I wear it at 22-23"). Puimond, Metamorph, Maya Hansen, Orchid Corsetry, Valkyrie & Bubble Fusion also feature in my collection of 'occasion' wear or corsets that are for modelling projects. At some stage I will document my collection with reviews and information! I work with many designers and I endeavour to promote these both personally and through the New Pre-Raphaelite Movement. My hobbies and creative work mean I always keep myself in pretty good shape and my fitness is paramount...working as intensively magickally as I do also means I have to keep a balance in my life that others might not. So I avoid sugar, alcohol, sweetners, bread/wheat...and while I am not vegetarian, I don't tend to eat meat. My main diet consists of snacks really...nuts, fruit, soup...you so find when you wear a corset and dance long hours, certain foods 'take' more than they seem to give. But for me, these are not hardships...my work and hobbies mean I have developed good habits while moving away from bad ones and it was all quite a natural progression. My main work is teaching energy healing as a spiritual facilitator and psychic counsellor; and I also provide magickal support/solutions for clients through my main work with Mayastar (Lux Aeterna Templum Universitas).
