The Real Easter Egg is up for an award tonight..more tomorrow...
Let's get rid of 'Easter'?.. 90% of Easter eggs available this year have had the word 'Easter' taken off their box? Check for yourself.
The following supermarkets are stocking The Real Easter Egg this year. Tesco have the blue box and Premium Eggs in the Extra and Superstores. Waitrose and Morrison's have the blue boxes egg in most of their stores. No Coop or Sainsbury's this year so there will be shortages.
Everyone is buying their eggs late this year! We are as busy in March as we were in February. We are down to our last 10 Special Edition eggs (the ones with the crosses in the box) and our last 100 Sharing boxes. We may get more made but it depends on orders. If you want them direct buy now. www.realeasteregg.co.uk
The team would like to wish you a Happy Easter. The good news is that more than a quarter of a million Real Easter Eggs were exchanged this year. This means that more than a million people will have the chance to read the Easter story found in The Real Easter Egg today and in the coming days. The Chancellor makes the most money from each sale of our eggs - 20%. However, in addition to the Fairtrade growers cash premium, which we pay to our farmers, it looks like we will be donating another £11,000 from sales to the charity Traidcraft Exchange from profits. The represents a very hight percentage of profits for us. This money will go to help some of the poorest families on the planet. Thanks again for your support and the difference you make. David and the team
Thanks for supporting the Real Easter Egg campaign this year. The good news is that more than a quarter of a million Real Easter Eggs were sold. This means that more than a million people will have the chance to read the Easter story found in The Real Easter Egg tomorrow and in the coming days. So thank you.
Sainsbury's are still claiming the eggs 'don't sell'. They took 500 eggs a few years ago, tried to sell them for £6 instead of £3.99 and then refused to accept any more due to a 'technical error 'on their part. Anyway, with more than a million eggs sold and shops selling out we know Sainsbury's claims are simply not true. So get to Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose and pick one up.
CLC Leicester have eggs, pop in or call 10 Bishop Street, Leicester, LE1 6AF Phone: 0116 2558481
We will be donating about £11,000 to the charity from sales of our charity Fairtrade Easter egg. Buy at Tesco, Morrisons or Waitrose now.
On top of the cash Fairtrade premiums, which is part of our chocolate costs and which goes directly to the growers, it looks like we will be donating about £11,000 to the charity Traidcraft Exchange. This will improve the lives of some of the poorest people on the planet. So get over to Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose and clear their shelves of the Uks only charity Fairtrade Easter egg
Lots of online retailers sold out but Traidcraft have last few, can deliver fast and free delivery until 30th March with this code:REEGGS
Jamil Hosh and his team at the Bethlehem Star Olive wood Factory have asked us to send you greetings and a thanks for buying the Peace edition of the egg. They made the Olive wood key rings. Tesco is the only supermarket where you can buy the Peace edition so it worth picking one up there.
Customs have released our crosses! You won't believe this but olive wood devotional crosses are classed as toys and so subject to VAT. That was the hold-up.
UK customs have release most of our Bethlehem olive wood crosses but they have one box of 1,500. The crosses are for our Premium egg...
As it's the season for honours, I am delighted to tell you that The Real Easter Egg won 'Gift of the Year 2013' as nominated by retailers at the Resources Together conference. That success is shared by you because of the support you have given the campaign.
Our online retailers have sold out and we are getting reports of Waitrose and some Tesco's selling out in store. Tesco is the only supermarket where you can buy the Peace edition so it worth picking one up there. Morrisons put their eggs out late so head there if you need to pick them up or try an independent retailer.
