Mental Health Research Network in Wales: Delivering the studies that matter for mental health.
Established in 2006, the Mental Health Research Network Cymru (MHRN-C) is an all Wales network funded by the National Institute for Social Care and Health Research. MHRN-C brings together researchers, clinicians, service users and carers to generate proposals for new research studies in order to develop a distinctive portfolio reflecting national needs and research strengths. MHRN-C generates and supports vital large-scale research across Wales; to help raise the standard and impact of health and social care research and practice in Wales, the UK and internationally. We also build upon strong links between Welsh Universities, the NHS, Social Care and the Voluntary Sector. This is done through our thematic Research Development Groups (RDGs) covering specific research areas We are a Registered Research Group of NISCHR, and have strong links with major mental health charities: HAFAL and Mind Cymru. MHRN-C is organised into three hubs (Swansea, Bangor and Cardiff) with the main co-ordinating centre based within the College of Medicine at Swansea University.
