I hope the cold weather and lack of sun isn't wearing down your immune systems to much. Make sure to take plenty of Vit. D3, drink lots of water, and get in for an adjustment with Dr. Schieber.

Patients of Metzler Chiropractic, I need a huge favor. If you could write a quick testimonial or success story and either email it to me at, send it to me in a message, or post it on here, it would be be greatly appreciated. I would also like your permission to put it on my new website I'm developing. Thank You. You are all wonderful!

Sounds like it is getting slick with snow to follow in Omaha. Make sure to look over the shoveling instructions in my old post to protect your back. If slip & falls or injuries from car accidents occur, get in to Dr. Schieber to take care of it. Don't let it become a chronic issue! Stay safe and I will enjoy my 63 and sunny day here!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! The positive changes and results my patients have made with chiropractic has been truly wonderful. However, after over 3 years of practice in Omaha I will be relocating to San Francisco to pursue some amazing opportunities that are too good to pass up. I want to thank you for your loyality, support, and referrals. I will miss my patients dearly but will be leaving them in the good hands of Dr. Jon Paul Schieber (other chiropractor in our office). I will continue to treat new and current patients until May 31st. If you need treatment, please let us know. It has been an amazing journey and could not have done it without you!

We are seeing a lot of people with injuries and soreness from being active in the yard and on the golf course. Make sure that you do some dynamic stretching (walking, jumping jacks, arm circles) before working in your garden or swinging the club. Also remember to stretch after you are done!

Snowed in today? Make sure to get up off the couch and move around hourly. Most couches do not provide much support. Just like your mattress, if it is no longer firm or has "lumps" in it, it can put a lot of stress on your spine.

An old post that is about to be relevant again in a couple hours. Shoveling snow can also wreak havoc on the musculoskeletal system. The ACA suggests the following tips for exercise of the snow shoveling variety: * Layer clothing to keep your muscles warm and flexible. * Shoveling can strain "de-conditioned" muscles between your shoulders, in your upper back, lower back, buttocks and legs. So, do some warm-up stretching before you grab that shovel. * When you do shovel, push the snow straight ahead. Don't try to throw it. Walk it to the snow bank. Avoid sudden twisting and turning motions. * Bend your knees to lift when shoveling. Let the muscles of your legs and arms do the work, not your back. * Take frequent rest breaks to take the strain off your muscles. A fatigued body asks for injury. * Stop if you feel chest pain, or get really tired or have shortness of breath. You may need immediate professional help. * After any of these activities, if you are sore, apply an ice bag to the affected area for 20 minutes, then take it off for a couple of hours. Repeat a couple of times each day over the next day or two.
