I would love to take this tour in person! Mainly to see that view and eat Paula Deen's fresh baked biscuits. https://www.facebook.com/chrisnathanwalker/posts/10205169822669959
So stealing this idea! This cute shop in Savannah used patterned scarves as inexpensive art for a tall wall. They have a kind of Moroccan feel but it would work with any style. (*tip* use furniture tacks that you can find at any hardware or fabric store for a more polished finish than thumb tacks.)
I have changed the name of my Etsy shop to also be MGF Interiors. Here is a link to the new shop... " https://www.etsy.com/shop/MGFinteriors?ref=hdr_shop_menu
One of my more recent designs for a good friend's family room and kitchen that also double as a Waldorf homeschooling space. This was a new challenge for me and I had so much fun learning about her needs for homeschooling and everyday life. We incorporated many of her existing pieces and brought new life to the design with some fun accessories, paint, furniture and more. I can't wait to see the finished product.
REALTOR friends and Home owners trying to SELL your home: just a reminder that MGF Interiors offers a SUPER affordable- online- home staging consultation. Starting at only $30 per room!!! Check out MGFInteriors.com for details. #armylifedesign, @MGFMelanie, AHRN
Even as an Interior Designer, our home is ALWAYS a work in progress. Our family is growing, we are constantly moving and our budget only allows for so many projects at once so it isn't perfect but we love it. This isn't a staged home, it's a "lived-in" home. What do your "lived-in" spaces look like? Check out my blog arMYlifedesign.blogspot.com for more pics and details.
Who else is obsessed with Fixer Upper? I have been using thrifty finds in my designs for years and love that Joanna Gaines is helping to make it so popular. https://www.facebook.com/HGTV/videos/10153080377359213/
Here are some great excuses for adding color to your home. If Green really increases wealth then I may have to add a few more green pieces to my own home!! http://www.countryliving.com/home-design/color/g2370/color-meaning/?slide=2
This is a great article that explains e-design. With two kiddos in tow, this is now the majority of my business and allows me to continue running MGF Interiors from wherever my husband's military career takes us. http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/thumbnails/0,,20916046,00.html
In honor of Mother's Day this weekend I want to share this gift from my mom. She had these framed for us as a housewarming gift. The floor plan and detail drawing were drafted by my grandfather and are of a house that my parents built and I grew up in. I guess home design is in my blood. http://armylifedesign.blogspot.com/2015/05/personalized-presentation.html
For an easy Mothers Day gift, you can never go wrong with framed artwork from the kiddos. I love my priceless finger painting created by my 2 year old so much that I have it proudly displayed on our mantle. He loves to show off his painting to all our visitors too. http://armylifedesign.blogspot.com
It's coming up on PCS season for Military families, be sure contact MGF Interiors to help you figure out how to make your new home feel like home, wherever you are. Check out my website for details...
So agree with this list! Although, I have to admit I am often guilty of not making the bed- just easier to close the bedroom door;) http://www.elledecor.com/design-decorate/interior-designers/tips/a6638/things-should-never-have-in-home-after-30/
Just a few of my design projects with Gray Family Homes in Odessa, FL...
This link has some great tips for discovering your personal decorating style!! I have always told my clients that their design should represent them and not just be a copy from a magazine. http://makelyhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/7-Clues-to-Your-Decorating-Style.png?
So excited about my latest project. This family has a vibrant kitchen so we are pulling those bright colors into their family room. Here are the three family friendly design options I have come up with for them. Which one is your favorite?
