WHY WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND A SPARE MASTER KEY Q: When do I need a new key A: when you only have one key left Q: Why can't I just get one made when I lose it A: well you can do that however, getting a spare key whilst you have a working key in most cases is 1/3 of the price of losing your keys. Q: why is it so expensive to lose keys A: lost keys is very time consuming with us having to perform anything from a simple key adding to a more complex While dashboard out to perform a complete IMMOBILIZER reprogramming anywhere from hundreds to over $1000 dollars Q: can you give me an example A: most toyotas. Volkswagen and Audi etc require more intense work especially any Toyota Corolla with the letter H stamped on the key which if all keys are lost requires a repair cost in excess of $2000 that can only be done by a dealership

THIS IS WHY WE PROGRAM OUR KEYS I am often asked what the benefits of cloned car keys are. I decided it is best to first explain what a clone key is and then weigh up the pros and cons. After 1998 in the UK, it was mandatory for your car to have an immobiliser system to cut car theft. With this came the introduction of transponder car keys. It meant you could no longer go to a local key cutting shop to get a spare car key. However with technology car keys could be cloned. Thus giving you an EXACT duplicate of your original key. With this came pros and cons Ok, lets start with the PROS. 1. Cloned keys are cheaper than programmed keys. 2. It is far quicker to clone a key than to book your car in to an Auto locksmith to program a new one. Now for the CONS. 1. If you lose your car key, the first thing you should do for security purposes is to clear that key down from the cars immobiliser system to inhibit a thief stealing your car. (remember a cloned key is an exact duplicate of your original key so without throwing your original away, you cannot do this) 2. Few present day cars have drivers door locks meaning you would have to climb through your passenger door to get in. 3. Present day cars require a remote key to disarm the alarm system. A cloned key will not do this. .... Hopefully this will give you an idea of why we always recommend buying a programmed key from ourselves rather than cloning a key. Thanks for reading
