“Universities are basically stuck in the 1960s and have made education worse, not better. Along comes an institution that is designed for the students for a one-quarter of the cost.” – Ben Nelson, Founder Read more: http://bit.ly/1W9x7R4

“Being a student at Minerva means it is not enough for me to just know concepts and formulas; here, I am challenged to constantly think of how they apply to the real world. I am inspired to find non-obvious connections between the content I am learning in class and real-world situations.” – Mayowa, Class of 2019 Read the full story here: http://bit.ly/1WJqzag

San Francisco has been a great Foundation Year city, but it is time for the Class of 2019 to experience Berlin, their next residential location. Students gathered recently for a pre-departure meeting, an opportunity to learn more about the city and begin their thinking around what initiatives they want to participate in once they are there.
Come September, San Francisco will welcome our newest class of students: the Class of 2020. We are already excited. #DecisionDay
Considering we are at the end of our Inaugural Year, we feel this #FridayInspiration is especially appropriate.

While nothing compares to experiencing #Ascent2016 in person, the photos we have shared showcase some of our favorite moments from the past three weekends. In the coming days, we will share even more with you. Thank you to the staff, faculty, Class of 2019, and, of course, prospective students for making these weekends special. Photo: Teodor Dovichinski
The Mission District is a well-known multicultural hub in San Francisco, so we brought our prospective students there to experience — and engage with — the neighborhood and its world-famous outdoor art. #Ascent2016 Photo: Kah Yee Chiang
One of the best things about #Ascent2016 is seeing our prospective students immerse themselves in the community of students, staff, and faculty that make Minerva what it is. We are looking forward to all of the activities that await them tomorrow. For behind-the-scenes updates, follow "minervalife" on Snapchat. Photo: Tommaso Boschetti

“The recent Ascent weekend reminded me of my own decision to embark on my Minerva journey. Looking back on the whole year, through the ups and downs, the deadlines and dance parties, the feasts and summer farewells, I am truly grateful to be a part of this adventure. I am also grateful to be able to meet so many wonderful students who are about to embark on their own Minerva journeys.” – Julian, Class of 2019 #MinervaRAs Artwork by Maria, Class of 2019
