Modern Mile Dallas celebrates architecturally significant modern homes located within one square mile, from Mid Century to 21st Century.
Modern Mile Dallas is a Celebration of Modern Architecture in One Square Mile. The MM 2 Dallas Tour committee (a non-profit 501c3 organization) is delighted to announce our inaugural tour open to the public slated for October 3, 2015, 11 am to 5 pm. Imagine a home tour clustered within one walkable square mile! Some of the neighborhood’s original low slung Mid-century modern dwellings were built in 1954 in conjunction with a nation-wide Parade of Homes. They received national publicity in Better Homes and Gardens, and in the local newspaper. More modern style houses were built in the ’60s and most of those period authentic homes are intact today. In recent times, some of the original homes were renovated and expanded for modern living. Also there has been a resurgence of architecturally significant contemporary or modern style structures built, including some under construction. Located in the Walnut Hill Homeowners Association bordered by Royal Lane, Midway Rd, Walnut Hill Lane, and Marsh Lane, this quiet tree lined neighborhood boasts numerous second generation homeowners.
We are the neighborhood bordered by Midway to Marsh & Walnut Hill to Royal. DART Route 31: WALNUT HILL @ LENEL-W-NS [25906]
