ABOUT MORT & CO // The quintessential Queensland brand, Mort & Co was first established in 1843 by Thomas Mort as an auctioneering and wool brokering business. In 1997, 150 years later, current CEO and ancestor of Thomas, Charlie Mort reignited the brand which is now synonymous with the development of refrigerated meat exports from Australia to the international market and remains a leader in the Australian beef cattle industry, particularly the management and production of grain-fed cattle. With a close eye on industry trends and the beef industry boom, Mort & Co has planned, defined, developed and moved their beef business to the next level, with the providence to take South East Queensland beef to the world with its new beef range. THE PHOENIX RANGE // Using skills learned over decades and an innate knack in identifying the perfect cattle, Mort & Co cattle experts hand select steers from over 60,000 head of grain and grass fed cattle who qualify to be within The Phoenix Range. With a team of nutritional experts and animal health and welfare specialists, the cattle are then fed a specific, unique, custom-designed, slow cooked ration formulated to produce beef that meet specific customer requirements from around the world, whether it be a particular cooking preference or a customer’s palette. Regular grain-fed beef is loaded with Vitamin B12, B3 and B6 as well as being rich in Iron, Selenium and Zinc. Mort & Co work to enhance these benefits, by providing cattle with unique rations in a state-of-the-art feedlot environment that enrich the results in beef.
