Who we are and what we do Motorseeker UK is a limited company, owned by David Merifield and operated by Lee French. We are used vehicle specialists in 4x4, sports and prestige vehicles. Our mission is to give excellent, personal and ‘no nonsense’ services at prices significantly lower than a conventional used vehicle dealership. Our showroom and workshop are located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, just 10 minutes from junction 29 of the M1 motorway. We maintain stocks of around 50 vehicles at any one time, with particular focus on Land Rover and sports and prestige product. Our vehicles are hand-picked by our expert buyers to maintain high standards in value and quality. All of our vehicles come with a 3 month warranty as standard, a full MOT test and full safety check performed by our own in-house technicians. Bodywork imperfections are repaired and the vehicle is professionally valeted. Every stock vehicle we buy (or sell on for you on a commission basis,) must have the right provenance, a full service history and be in the best possible condition for the year. We believe that you deserve the best and we only want to be involved with the best. We also offer mainland UK wide pick-up and delivery of vehicles, to take the hassle out of vehicle buying and selling. Meet the team David Merifield David is the founder and proprietor of Motorseeker UK. Based here in Chesterfield, Derbyshire; David previously owned and operated a family business for nearly 20 years, the Blake Group, with Vauxhall, Peugeot and Chevrolet as the core franchises. He has always invested heavily in customer care, this being repaid with customers returning time and time again, resulting in the family business growing from a 2 to 5 site group and attracting numerous industry coveted awards. Despite his success, David became increasingly frustrated with the constraints of operating a franchise and the limitations that this imposed upon customers and decided to sell the Blake Group in 2007 to set up Motorseeker UK. In doing so, he made a strategic and value based decision. To lever his vast automotive knowledge, expertise and commitment to customer-centric service, within the growing specialist arena of 4x4, sports and prestige used cars. Professionally qualified as a Chartered Secretary, David has also held the office of President of the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce in 2007/8 and continues as a Non-Executive Director. He is also a School Governor. Lee French Lee has worked with David since 2000, previously within the Blake Group and then latterly, as General Manager for Motorseeker UK, since its inception in 2005. Being a like-minded individual, Lee shares David’s commitment to customer care and operates with a professional, open, no nonsense approach. With almost 25 years of automotive knowledge and experience, he is an expert buyer of vehicles and will hand-pick stock in order to maintain the highest standards in value and quality. Well respected and connected within the automotive industry, Lee is fully committed to finding the best deal for you, whether buying or selling on a vehicle. Duncan Goodwin As a direct result of the business’s success, Motorseeker UK was delighted to expand the sales team, with Duncan joining in 2013. Duncan brought with him a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise, having worked previously for the Blake Group and a number of franchised dealer groups including Sytner and GK Group.
