Mount Carmel High School is an all boys, Catholic high school in the city of Chicago, Illinois. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, the school has been operated by the Carmelite order of priests and brothers since 1900. Several priests and brothers who teach at the school live in the nearby Saint Cyril Priory, though most of the staff consists of lay teachers.Mount Carmel is nationally known for its athletics program, which includes one of the historically best football teams in the state of Illinois. Numerous alumni have gone on to careers in the National Football League such as Donovan McNabb and Simeon Rice, and three former head football coaches went on to notable college head coaching careers. Alumni have won all four major professional team sports championships in North America (Stanley Cup, World Series, Super Bowl, and NBA Championship).Mount Carmel is occasionally confused with Carmel High School in Mundelein, Illinois, and Mount Carmel High School in Mount Carmel, Illinois. The former is also a Carmelite school, while the latter is the town of Mount Carmel's only public high school.

Austin Community Academy High School is a public 4–year charter high school located at 231 North Pine Avenue in the Austin neighborhood on the west side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Operated by the Chicago Public Schools, Austin opened in 1890, and was named in honor of Henry W. Austin, a Chicago real estate developer In 2004, The online newsletter called it the yellow brick fortress. Austin Polytech shares it's campus with two smaller schools; Austin Business & Entrepreneurship Academy High and V.O.I.S.E. Academy High School.HistoryAustin was opened by the Chicago Public Schools district in 1890. During the mid-twentieth century, Austin High was considered one of the best high schools in the Chicago area. In later years, however, Austin suffered from low test scores, low attendance, and student violence. The Chicago Public Schools began phasing it out in 2004, ordering the school to stop admitting new freshman. The last graduations were held in June 2007 and the phase-out was completed by the end of summer, 2007. Many of the old school records from 1890 to 1970 are now preserved at the Chicago Public Library in the Special Collections for Community History.Renaissance 2010As part of the Renaissance 2010 program, the school's campus was then converted into three smaller high schools: Austin Polytechnical Academy, which opened in 2006, Austin Business and Entrepreneurship Academy, which opened in 2007; V.O.I.S.E. Academy High School, which opened in 2008. (VOISE stands for "Virtual Opportunities Inside a School Environment"; the school combines an online curriculum with classroom instruction.) The schools on the Austin campus share an athletics program. The sports teams are nicknamed the Tigers.

Nicholas Senn High School is a public 4-year high school located on the North Side of Chicago in the Edgewater community. It is operated by the Chicago Public Schools system. Senn was inaugurated in 1913. The school has advanced placement classes, an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, a fine arts program (theater, visual arts, dance, and music), and a Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program.CurriculumSenn was granted the International Baccalaureate program in 1999. Senn also has the TESOL/Multilingual Program, an English as a Second Language program for limited English proficiency students, the Striving for Excellence Program (for a select group of freshmen identified as struggling or at-risk), and the Education-To-Careers Program (for 10th, 11th and 12th graders that includes job shadowing, apprenticeships, and partnerships with local businesses).
