MDA is fighting to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the devastating effects of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases. http://mda.org/about
MDA is leading the fight to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life. We use our collective strength to help kids and adults live longer and grow stronger by finding research breakthroughs across diseases, caring for individuals from day one and empowering families with services and support in hometowns across America. MDA is using the money we raise to accomplish the following goals by 2020: CURE: Double our research investment on drug development and clinical trials to bring more treatments and cures to families. CARE: Provide care and support for 50,000 more families — a 50 percent increase over the number of families registered with MDA today. CHAMPION: Fund 20,000 kids at MDA Summer Camp at no cost to families as we expand our offerings for young adults.

Imerman Angels is a non-profit organization providing free one-on-one cancer support to cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers. Through our personalized matching process, cancer fighters are connected with someone who has experienced a similar cancer situation (a Mentor Angel). While each cancer experience is unique, Mentor Angels are matched by similar age, gender, and cancer type, giving fighters the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from a peer who is truly familiar with the situation. Frequently, caregivers experience feelings similar to the person facing cancer. We connect those caring for or grieving the loss of a loved one with Caregiver Mentor Angels who can help provide support and comfort through the journey. A loved one may be a family member (such as a child, parent, spouse, sibling, or grandparent) or friend who has had cancer. Our service is absolutely free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world. To receive or provide support, please complete the online registration form found on our website at www.imermanangels.org!
