Michelle Chapla is the founder of My Autism Consultant, LLC. Michelle has 11 years of experience in treating children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and co-occurring mental health diagnosis. For 8 of those years, Michelle served in a clinical management capacity for several Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Service Providers in Western Pennsylvania. Michelle earned her Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology in 2003 and Bachelor’s Degree in Child Care and Child Development in 2001 from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her course work in ABA from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003. She prides herself in driving the development of the highest level of quality care and the continuum of services to families, consumer, and other stakeholder affected by ASD. She achieves these goals through the use of data based methods of interventions such as verbal behavior, discrete trial, social skills training, methods of ABA and evidence- based interventions. Michelle was introduced to the world of Autism through her internship at PLEA. She was provided the opportunity to intern at this specialized school-based partial program for children. Michelle felt that children with ASD had a lot to teach her and she decided to continue to peruse her education. She became interested in the interventions used to treat children with ASD and enrolled in course work to complete her certification in ABA. Michelle believes that continued training and education is vital in treating children on the spectrum and educating families. She has continued to receive intensive ABA supervision and hands on training in the use of multiple interventions from Board Certified Behavioral Analysts. Michelle has been responsible for creating, monitoring and implementing individualized verbal behavior, discrete trial and fluency programs for children with ASD. She has conducted regional trainings to schools, professionals and parents regarding treatment of children with ASD.

My Autism Consultant provides consultation services to school districts and community organizations such as daycares, Behavioral Health Services, and private schools. We can complete Functional Behavioral Assessments, develop Behavioral Plans and assist with classroom strategies and programs. We provide an extensive list of training opportunities to school districts, colleges and community organizations to ensure continuity of care. We can tailor to your programs current and ongoing needs. My Autism Consultant provides a range of services for families. We are able to customize to your needs and develop a plan that is unique to your family and child. Many of our families pick services that target consulting specifically to their family or educational needs. However, we provide many models of services from P.L.A.Y Project to Applied Behavioral Analysis. We do not use a "cookie cutter" approach to treatment. We assess your child and family needs through a variety of techniques and come up with best approach for you. We customize in-home programs for your family and train staff that you choose to work with your child. We provide work support, college coaching and community support for young adults with ASD. My Autism Consultant offers trained staff that have a combined total of 30 years experience in treatment of children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and special needs. We provide training and consultation via web conferencing and will travel as needed to meet an organization's or families requests.Company Rating
