Due to a legality in the landlord's liquor permit, it turns out he is not allowed to lease out the restaurant to another owner. He is only allowed to run it himself, at best hire a manager to oversee operations. He admitted that he knew this. I put thousands of dollars into food, staff, and renovations to turn the bad reputation this restaurant had into something good. He allowed me to sink money into something that he knew could never be mine. He tried to have me pay for the repairs on his equipment. I refused to pay for the repairs on the dishwasher when it broke last week. I closed because I had cycled through all my dishes and the ones that were hand washed were not sanitized. My concern was the health and safety of my customers, not the bottom line. Instead of calling a different repairman to come, he called his own staff to come in and cook my food and was prepared to steal my inventory and equipment and have me locked out. Since the MLCC inspectors were in this week and became aware of my presence and that this was completely against his contract, they had a meeting with him to let him know it was me or his permit. Instead of doing the right thing and buying out my inventory and equipment, I was warned that he has already hired staff to take over behind my back. Before he could take my food inventory and the few items and equipment that do belong to me, at the close of business today I took the things that I owned and got out. I found out that I unsuspectingly had done this same thing to two people that he had arranged to take over. These two people were coming into do the same thing to the Shore Lunch owner that I took over from. So it seems that the landlord has a history of hostile takeovers of the people running the restaurant. I left him a newly painted restaurant and over $500.00 worth of renovations in lieu of my last rent payment of $200.00. Not only did I sink thousands in, but I leave thousands of dollars in debt and no job or source of income. This has been a huge disappointment that me and my family will suffer for. BUT the really sad thing is, I strongly suspect that he will try and do the same thing to the next person. I thank my customers for their patronage and it is with a huge heavy heart that I say goodbye.

As all of you know, from time to time, every restaurant makes mistakes. There was an extensive bad revue put up tonight under recommendations. I do not dispute that the restaurant did not satisfy a couple that came tonight for their second visit. I deleted the bad revue due to swear content involved. Four of my teenage daughters read this as it is usually about them. I also deleted their recommendation (to be fair). The details are as follows. Their first visit was met with a glorious recommendation. Tonight's visit was a lot less appealing. They were unhappy that the bacon and/or burger was not crisp as last time. The cook did not put out veggies and dip even when requested. He also refused to separate white chicken meat from our mixed proportioned roast chicken so the customer went with a quesadilla instead of what they originally wanted. The waitress said that it was with veggies and cheese. I believe that this is where a misunderstanding occurred. The quesadilla has red and green peppers, onions, and other veggies inside and this is what the waitress was referring to. The customer ordered mashed potatoes and gravy. She was charged 2.00 for the two scoops of mashed potatoes and asked if she wanted gravy and replied yes, on the side and was charged 1.00 for the gravy as this was not included. When the customer returned home they looked up the prices on our menu online which is outdated. Our menu in the restaurant has been update and revised. Yes, the cook made mistakes, the waitress was young and making more errors then I was aware of. And I as the owner, take responsibility. Both the cook and waitress have been talked to and the waitress is obviously no ready to work alone and will not be again. I have sent a personal private apology and offered them a full refund. They are understandable upset thinking that I deleted them to hide their revue. That is not the case and why I posted the majority of the complaint.

Old Menu photos have been removed as we have a revised menu at the restaurant and this one has outdated prices. A new one will be up shortly with more poutines and hamburgers and new hotdogs!
